Osteoporosis

Eating more calcium-rich foods alone is not enough; the kind of calcium you ingest needs to be easily digested and needs to stay in your blood so it can get to your bones. Seaweeds are abundant sources of nondairy calcium and have a good balance of magnesium for proper absorption.

Rockweed and bladderwrack (same varieties as in Seagreens®) are by far the richest in calcium of all the marine plants... (Brown seaweed also)increases calcium uptake in the digestive tract to support healthy bone formation and prevent bone loss as occurs in osteoporosis...

Research studies in Osaka, Japan at the Calcium Research Institute demonstrated that rats fed seaweed as part of their daily diet experienced improved intestinal absorption of calcium, preventing a decline in bone mass - also pH-balancing (alkalising) so it can help prevent calcium from being drawn away from the bones to buffer an acid system.

Seaweed provides the body with a bioavailable, effortlessly absorbed, and effective form of calcium, which goes far in strengthening bones and teeth and preventing osteoporosis... Scientists have discovered that fucoidan, an extract of brown seaweed, helps promote the formation of fibronectin, a chief substance for keeping joints lubricated and flexible (130).
